Christmas Parade

The route of the Christmas Parade.

Summer Cobb

On December 9, the 35th Annual Main Street Christmas Parade festive showcase takes place in the downtown Texarkana area. Marching bands, colorful floats, camels, and even the big, red, jolly Santa Claus himself will be highlighting the parade. Multiple vendors will sell glow bands, bead necklaces, and bracelets along with food and gifts. This year’s theme is “Twice As Nice Christmas.” There is not an entry fee and the parade will start at 7pm sharp. The parade party will make its way down Broad Street.  The parade will  then cross Stateline Avenue and continue on in front of the Bi-State Building on Broad Street before taking a right on Main Street passing in front of Pecan Point and the Perot Theater. The parade will then take a right on 3rd Street for a block and a half before turning left onto Stateline Avenue and carry straight up to the Federal Building, or as most know it, the post office. Make sure to get there extra early so you can ensure favorite spot. Merry Christmas!
